This past weekend was awesome. I went up to the Pocono's with my good friend John. Anytime I know im spending the weekend with John I know I will have a blast. And this time was like everyother, amazing. After work on Friday night I drove up to the Pocono's to find John and his college friends all hanging out by the fire. It was cool, it sucked a little because leaving straight from work to drive there made me really tired. Come Saturday it was Johns birthday, after sleeping until about 11 in the moring we decided that we all weren't going to be able to all lave at cone to go skiing so we made to car trips. One that left at 12 and one that would leave later at like 2. Well I took the later one, and so did John and Andrew. We tried to meet up with everyone else but the mt. was closing because it didn't have night lights. Arr. So we went to Big Boulder instead. After getting my lift ticket and my ski rental's I could already feel my feet getting really cold. Sure enough one time down the mountain I could not feel myself moving my feet. So I went inside for a bit to warm up, while listen to a Jon Bon Jovi cover band. Once I got feeling back I went out again, but this time I came down and it was sooo icy and windy and coolldd, and it just wasn't working out so I called it a night and waited for everyone else inside to get done. I was a little upset until we got back I remember we were getting some Dominics. where they have the best pig pizza. After dinner we went back to the house were Johns college friends had decked out the house in birthday decorations. It was a really good time saturday night everyone was a good time and there was MAGIC HAT #9. Nice. so I had my self a couple and just enjoyed talking to people all night and watching garden state x2. It was such a good night I had an awesome time and it was awesome to meet new people. As John would say it was a weekend 2 decades in the making.

My brother had written a blog about education, and how the school system is slowly lowering the bar for expectations. But its not just now, schools have let plenty of people slip threw the cracks. I have been told it has happen to me I passed along instead of being held back one more year and maybe having a better chance of understanding things. Also one of my boss's kid was passed a long from 1st grade up to 5th grade, and her reading level was at a 2nd grade level when she was in 5th grade. That's INSANE that means she probably didn't know what was going on with homework or following kids readings in class. And the teachers just pawned them off to the next. Im sure its not there intention to pass them along, but I am sure that they look over certain things so that they don't have to deal with the kid, because it would be too time consuming. Also after reading his blog I started to look at older people in my classes (older = 22 +). Some of them can barely read a paragraph with out the teacher stepping in and helping them at least 3 or 4 times. Im not saying that I am the best reader either, I have to read a page about 3x before it sinks in. But I can go threw a paragraph or 2 with out being helped with "big words" I don't know something to think about when the next time your in class and hear the person reading.

Ok so. I don't have many hobbies. Infact none, unless you count music, then that is probably my one and only true hobby. being so into music, its amazing to see how it changes. its awesome. I save all of my tickets to every show I have been to. Its a great way to look back on shows and think what songs were played and who went with you. Especially bands that are not around anymore ( phish). But since certain bands have departed I have started to look at other bands a lot more, and o my how have my eyes have been open. With my good friend John and I trading music, saying what each other should check out is another awesome way to get to know new bands. And when im talking about music, I mean MUSIC. Not something that is only going to be around for about 3 weeks, until it gets retired on MTV. Im talking about bands that know there music like it was a fine english woman. Where each member knows there instruments like it was there own body part. The best way to experience music, I think, is to go to large venue where lots of other bands are playing as well. Because you know these other bands/groups that are playing with the band you went to see are going to have the same musical taste. so in a way its killing 2 birds with one stone. Not only are you seeing the band that drove you to go, but also you are seeing other bands that could potential lead you to like them as well. This leads you where I want to be on June 16 to the 18, in Tennessee, for Bonaroo. O my, Bonaroo will have ever band on the bill that I wanted to see this summer all in one location. and a road trip is added onto it. If I went to it this year not only would it make my summer but would lead me to other bands that would open a whole new can of worms for me. One can hope friends can move some funding around and can make it.
